REFERENDUM (SPECIAL DIFFICULTY) ORDER, 1996. |

I, Michael D. Higgins, Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht being the member of the Government nominated pursuant to section 7 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 , to execute the office of the Minister for the Environment as provided by An tOrdú um an Aire Comhsaoil (Gníomhaireacht) 1996, hereby, in exercise of the powers conferred on the said Minister for the Environment by section 164 (1) of the Electoral Act, 1992 , order as follows: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Referendum (Special Difficulty) Order, 1996. |
||
2. In this Order "the Referendum" means the referendum to be held on the proposal for the amendment of the Constitution contained in the Sixteenth Amendment of the Constitution Bill, 1996. |
||
3. Notwithstanding the Referendum Act, 1994 , and section 85 of the Electoral Act, 1992 (as applied by section 30 of the Referendum Act, 1994 ) the taking of the poll at the referendum in the islands situate in the constituency of Galway West set out in the Schedule to this Order shall be continued on the 28th of November, 1996 between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 9.00 p.m. |
