DUNDALK URBAN DISTRICT LOCAL ELECTORAL AREAS ORDER, 1994.

|
The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers vested in him by section 35 of the Local Government Act, 1941 (No. 23 of 1941), hereby orders as follows:
|
|
|
1. This Order may be cited as the Dundalk Urban District Local Electoral Areas Order, 1994.
|
|
|
2. The Dundalk Urban District Local Electoral Areas Order, 1979 ( S.I. No. 43 of 1979 ) is hereby revoked.
|
|
|
3. In this Order "the Urban District" means the Urban District of Dundalk as altered for the purposes of local elections by the Local Government (Boundaries) (Town Elections) Regulations, 1994 and references to the urban boundary shall be construed accordingly.
|
|
|
4. The Urban District shall 7be divided into the local electoral areas set out in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.
|
|
|
5. (1) Each such local electoral area shall consist of the area described in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such local electoral area.
|
|
|
(2) In the Schedule to this Order--
|
|
|
( a ) a reference to a line drawn along any road, street, avenue, lane, pedestrian under-crossing, river, railway line or fence shall be construed as a reference to a line drawn along the centre of the road, street, avenue, lane, pedestrian under crossing, river, railway line or fence;
|
|
|
( b ) a reference to the point at which any road, street, avenue, lane, pedestrian under-crossing, river, railway line or fence intersects or joins any road, street, avenue, lane, pedestrian under-crossing, river, railway line or fence shall be construed as a reference to the point at which a line drawn along the centre of the one would be intersected or joined by a line drawn along the centre of the other;

|
( c ) a reference to the point at which any road, street, avenue, lane, river, railway line or fence intersects or joins a boundary shall be construed as a reference to the point at which a line drawn along the centre of such road, street, avenue, lane, river, railway line or fence intersects or joins such boundary.
|
|
|
6. The number of members of the council of the Urban District to be elected for each such local electoral area shall be the number set out in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such local electoral area.

Commencing at the junction of the southern boundary of Marsh North townland with the urban boundary; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the urban boundary to its junction with the northern boundary of the townland of Lisnawully; thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along the said boundary and the western boundary of the townland of Farrandreg to its junction with the fence which forms the southern boundary of hereditaments numbered 4B, 7, and 4A in the townland of Farrendreg on 1/10560 Valuation Map 7 County Louth; thence commencing in an easterly direction and proceeding along the said fence to its junction with the eastern boundary of the said town-land; thence in a south-easterly direction along the townland boundary to its intersection by the imaginary westerly projection of the southern boundary of numbers 350, 354, 355 and 356 Beechmount Drive; thence in an easterly direction
along the said imaginary projection, the said southern boundary and the imaginary easterly projection of the said boundary to its intersection by Ard Easmuinn Road; thence in a southerly direction along the said road to its intersection by the imaginary westerly projection of Ard Easmuinn/Pearse Park pedestrian under-crossing; thence in an easterly direction along the said projection and under-crossing to its intersection by the Dublin-Belfast railway line; thence in a northerly direction along the said railway line to its junction with Castle-town Road; thence in a south-easterly direction along Castletown Road to its junction with the road known locally as La Salle Terrace Road; thence in a southerly direction along the said road and Patrick Street to its junction with Laurels Road; thence commencing in a southerly direction and proceeding along Laurels Road to its junction with Church Street; thence in a southerly direction along Church Street to its junction with Yorke Street;
thence in an easterly direction along Yorke Street to its junction with Nicholas Street; thence in a northerly direction along Nicholas Street and its imaginary northerly projection to its first intersection by High Water Mark; thence commencing in an easterly direction along High Water Mark to its first junction with the urban boundary; thence in a north-westerly direction along the urban boundary to the starting point.

Commencing at the first intersection of High Water Mark by the imaginary northerly projection of Nicholas Street; thence commencing in an easterly direction and proceedings along High Water Mark to its first junction with the urban boundary; thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along the urban boundary to its junction with the Dundalk Inner Relief Road; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the Dundalk Inner Relief Road to its junction with the entrance road to Muirhevnamore housing estate and Dundalk Sports Centre; thence commencing in a westerly direction and proceeding along the said entrance road to its intersection by the imaginary easterly projection of the southern boundary of Scoil Chríost Rí; thence in a westerly direction along the said imaginary projection and the said boundary to its junction with the western boundary of Scoil Chríost Rí; thence in a northerly direction
along the said boundary and an imaginary straight line drawn from the northern end of the said boundary to the southern end of the western boundary of Seafield Lawns housing estate; thence continuing in a northerly direction along the last-mentioned boundary and its imaginery northerly projection to its intersection by the Long Avenue; thence in an easterly direction along the Long Avenue to its intersection by the imaginary southerly projection of the eastern boundary of the curtilage of houses on the eastern side of Alpohonsus Close; thence in a northerly direction along the said imaginary projection and the said boundary to its junction with the northern boundary of the curtilage of the house immediately south of number 48 St. Alpohonsus Road; thence in a westerly direction along the last-mentioned boundary and its imaginary westerly projection to its intersection by the laneway to the rear of houses on St. Alpohonsus Villas; thence in a northerly direction along the said laneway

Commencing at the intersection of the Dublin/Belfast railway line by Castletown Road; thence in a south-easterly direction along Castletown Road to its junction with the road known locally as La Salle Terrace Road; thence in a southerly direction along the said road and Patrick Street to its junction with Laurels Road; thence commencing in a southerly direction and proceeding along Laurels Road to its junction with Church Street; thence in a southerly direction along Church Street to its junction with Yorke Street; thence in an easterly direction along Yorke Street to its junction with Chapel Street; thence is a south-easterly direction along Chapel Street to its junction with Jocelyn Street; thence in an easterly direction along Jocelyn Street to its junction with Distillery Lane; thence in a south-easterly direction along Distillery Lane and its imaginary south-easterly projection to its intersection by the Rampart River; thence

This Order divides the Urban District of Dundalk into four electoral areas for the purposes of local elections and fixes the number of members of the Council of the Urban District to be elected for each area.
