S.I. No. 152/1993:

LOCAL GOVERNMENT (PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT) ACT, 1993, (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1993.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT (PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT) ACT, 1993, (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1993.

The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 6 (3) of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1993 (No. 12 of 1993), hereby orders as follows:--

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1993 , (Commencement) Order, 1993.

2. In this Order, "the Act" means the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1993 .

3. (1) On the 15th day of June, 1993, all of the provisions of the Act, except section 5, shall come into operation.

(2) On the 15th day of June, 1994, section 5 of the Act shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order fixes the days on which the provisions of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1993 shall come into operation. All of the Act's provisions, other than section 5, come into operation on 15 June, 1993. Section 5, which provides for the repeal of section 84 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963 (No. 28 of 1963), shall come into operation on 15 June, 1994.
