The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) and section 56 (5) of the Health Act, 1970 (No. 1 of 1970 ) as substituted by section 1 of the Health (Amendment) Act, 1987 (No. 3 of 1987) with the consent of the Minister for Finance hereby makes the following regulations: |

1. These regulations may be cited as the Health (Out-Patient Charges) (Amendment) Regulations, 1993. |
||
2. The following sub-article is hereby substituted for sub-article (2) of Article 4 of the Health (Out-Patient Charges) Regulations, 1987 ( S.I. No. 115 of 1987 ): |
||
"(2) The charge under sub-article (1) of this Article shall be at the rate of £6 in respect of each visit in the course of which out-patient services are availed of, subject to a maximum of £42 in any period of twelve consecutive months from the 1st day of March, 1993." |
||
3. These regulations shall come into operation on 1st day of March, 1993. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
These Regulations provide that instead of the £10 charge for out-patient services introduced in May 1987 a charge of £6 per visit be introduced from 1st March 1993 subject to a limitation of £42 in any period of twelve consecutive months from that date. |
