S.I. No. 237/1989:

SAFETY, HEALTH AND WELFARE AT WORK ACT, 1989 (REPEALS) ORDER, 1989.

SAFETY, HEALTH AND WELFARE AT WORK ACT, 1989 (REPEALS) ORDER, 1989.

I, BERTIE AHERN, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 1 (2) and 4 (3) of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 1989 (No. 7 of 1989), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 1989 (Repeals) Order, 1989.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of November, 1989.

2. Section 77 of the Factories Act, 1955 (No. 10 of 1955), and section 101 of the Mines and Quarries Act, 1965 (No. 7 of 1965), are hereby repealed.

GIVEN under my Official Seal this 2nd day of October, 1989.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order repeals section 77 of the Factories Act, 1955 and section 101 of the Mines and Quarries Act, 1965 from the 1st day of November, 1989. Those provisions are replaced by section 56 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 1989 .
