S.I. No. 169/1988:

MONEYLENDERS ACT, 1900 (SECTION 6 (f)) ORDER, 1988.

MONEYLENDERS ACT, 1900 (SECTION 6 (f)) ORDER, 1988.

I, ALBERT REYNOLDS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 6 (f) (inserted by the Industrial and Provident Societies (Amendment) Act, 1978 (No. 23 of 1978)) of the Money-Lenders Act, 1900, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Moneylenders Act, 1900 (Section 6 (f)) Order, 1988.

2. It is hereby declared that from the 11th day of November, 1986, the Moneylenders Act, 1900, does not apply to any industrial and provident society to which the Industrial and Provident Societies (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Section 5 (3) Regulations, 1938 ( S.I. No. 168 of 1983 ), applies and shall remain in force for 3 years.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order exempts certain classes of industrial and provident society from the Money-lenders Act, 1900.
