EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (MILK LEVY) (AMENDMENT) (No. 2) REGULATIONS, 1987.

I, MICHAEL O'KENNEDY, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Regulation (EEC) No. 857/84 of the 31st day of March, 1984¹, and Commission Regulation (EEC) No. 1371/84 of the 16th day of May, 1984², hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Milk Levy) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1987.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 28th day of May, 1987.

2. A word or expression which is used in these Regulations and is also used in Council Regulation (EEC) No. 857/84 of the 31st March, 1984¹, or in Commission Regulation (EEC) No. 1371/84 of the 16th day of May, 1984², shall, unless the contrary intention is expressed, have in these Regulations the meaning that it has in those Regulations.

3. The European Communities (Milk Levy) Regulations, 1985 ( S.I. No. 416 of 1985 ), are hereby amended by the substitution in the proviso to paragraph (4) (inserted by the European Communities (Milk Levy) (Amendment) Regulations 1987 ( S.I. No. 51 of 1987 )) of Regulation 4 for "one month" of "three months".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to further modify the arrangements in relation to the transfer of suppliers' milk quotas between purchasers.
