S.I. No. 305/1985:

ANIMALS ACT, 1985 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1985.

ANIMALS ACT, 1985 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1985.

I, MICHAEL NOONAN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 9 of the Animals Act, 1985 (No. 11 of 1985), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Animals Act, 1985 (Commencement) Order, 1985.

2. The 20th day of September, 1985, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Animals Act, 1985 , shall come into operation.

GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 16th day of September, 1985.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings the Animals Act, 1985 , into operation on the 20th day of September, 1985. The Act amends the law relating to impounding of animals and liability for damage done by animals.
