POSTAL AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES ACT, 1983 (WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY) (No. 2) ORDER, 1983.

POSTAL AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES ACT, 1983 (WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY) (No. 2) ORDER, 1983.

I, JIM MITCHELL, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 76 (3) of the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 (No. 24 of 1983), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 (Wireless Telegraphy) (No. 2) Order, 1983.

2. An Post is hereby empowered to exercise on behalf of the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the functions conferred on the Minister by the Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1972 , in so far as that Act relates to the registration of television dealers and the supply of information to him by dealers.

3. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1984.

GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 23rd day of December, 1983.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order empowers An Post to exercise the functions conferred on the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs by or under the Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1972 , in so far as that Act relates to the registration of television dealers and the supply of information to the Minister by the dealers.
