I, TOM FITZPATRICK, Minister for Fisheries and Forestry, being satisfied that because of the severity of weather conditions occurring in the State it is desirable, in the interest of conserving fauna, to make an order under section 27 of the Wildlife Act, 1976 , hereby, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said section 27, as adapted by the Fisheries (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1978 ( S.I. No. 195 of 1978 ), make the following order: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Wildlife Act, 1976 (Section 27) Order, 1982. |
||
2. The hunting of-- |
||
( a ) any protected wild bird which is of a species specified in Part I of the Schedule to this Order (being species each of which is specified in the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) Orders, 1979 and 1980), or |
||
( b ) any wild mammal which is of a species specified in Part II of the said Schedule (which wild mammals are, because each of the species specified in the said part II is specified in the Wildlife (Wild Mammals) (Open Seasons) Order, 1979 ( S.I. No. 193 of 1979 ), exempted wild mammals), |
||
is hereby prohibited throughout the State during the period beginning on the commencement of this Order and ending on the 22nd day of January, 1982. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
The effect of this Order is to temporarily suspend the hunting of listed protected wild birds and exempted wild mammals during the period mentioned, due to the severity of weather conditions. |
