SAFETY IN INDUSTRY ACT (COMMENCEMENT) (NO. 2) ORDER, 1981.

I, LIAM KAVANAGH, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Safety in Industry Act, 1980 (No. 9 of 1980) , hereby order as follows:--

1. This Order may be cited as the Safety in Industry Act (Commencement) (No. 2) Order, 1981.

2. The 1st day of March, 1982, is hereby fixed as the day on which the following provisions of the Safety in Industry Act, 1980 (No. 9 of 1980) , shall come into operation, namely:

(a) section 2, in so far as it provides a definition of “lifting tackle”;

(b) section 7 (c), in so far as it repeals section 34 (3) of the Principal Act;

and

(c) sections 7 (d), 17, 18, 22 (4), 28, 29, 31 and 32.

This Order appoints the date on which certain provisions of the Safety in Industry Act, 1980 come into operation.
