S.I. No. 140/1979:

PETROLEUM OILS (CONTROL OF SUPPLY AND DISTRIBUTION) ORDER, 1979.

PETROLEUM OILS (CONTROL OF SUPPLY AND DISTRIBUTION) ORDER, 1979.

The Government in exercise of the power conferred on them by section 2 (1) of the Fuels (Control of Supplies) Act, 1971 (No. 3 of 1971), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Petroleum Oils (Control of Supply and Distribution) Order, 1979.

2. This Order shall remain in force for six months from its making.

3. It is hereby declared that the exigencies of the common good necessitate the control by the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy on behalf of the State of the supply and distribution of petroleum oils.

GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Government, this 11th day of April, 1979.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Order empowers the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy to regulate the supply and distribution of petroleum oils for a period of six months from 11th April, 1979.
