S.I. No. 176/1977:

EMPLOYMENT EQUALITY ACT, 1977 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1977.

EMPLOYMENT EQUALITY ACT, 1977 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1977.

I, MICHAEL O'LEARY, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 55 of the Employment Equality Act, 1977 (No. 16 of 1977), hereby order as follows:--

1. This Order may be cited as the Employment Equality Act, 1977 (Commencement) Order, 1977.

2. The 1st day of July, 1977, is hereby appointed to be the day on which the Employment Equality Act, 1977 (No. 16 of 1977), other than sections 34 to 52, shall come into operation.

GIVEN under my Official Seal this 13th day of June, 1977.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order appoints the 1st day of July, 1977 as the day on which the Employment Equality Act, 1977 (other than Sections 34 to 52) comes into operation.
