S.I. No. 172/1972:

REDUNDANCY CONTRIBUTIONS (VARIATION OF RATES) ORDER, 1972.

REDUNDANCY CONTRIBUTIONS (VARIATION OF RATES) ORDER, 1972.

I, JOSEPH BRENNAN, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 28 of the Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 (21 of 1967), hereby make the following order :

1. This Order may be cited as the Redundancy Contributions (Variation of Rates) Order, 1972.

2. This Order shall come into operation on 2nd day of October, 1972.

3. In this Order " the Order of 1971 " means the Redundancy Contributions (Variation of Rates) Order, 1971 ( S.I. No. 36 of 1971 ).

4. The Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 (No. 21 of 1967) shall have effect as if in section 28, which relates to weekly contributions to the Redundancy Fund--

(a) " five new pence " were substituted for " three new pence " (inserted by the Order of 1971) where that first occurs in subsection (1),

(b) " four new pence " were substituted for " three new pence " (inserted by the Order of 1971) where that secondly occurs in subsection (1), and

(c) " three new pence " and " two new pence " were substituted for " two new pence " (inserted by the Order of 1971) and " one new penny " (inserted by the Order of 1971) respectively, in subsection (2).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides for the increase of the rates of weekly contributions to the Redundancy Fund as from 2nd October, 1972.
