S.I. No. 201/1971:

LOCAL GOVERNMENT (CHANGE OF NAME OF NON-MUNICIPAL TOWN) ORDER, 1971.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT (CHANGE OF NAME OF NON-MUNICIPAL TOWN) ORDER, 1971.

WHEREAS an application has been duly made to the Government under section 77 of the Local Government Act, 1946 (No. 24 of 1946), to make an order under that section changing the name of the non-municipal town specified in the Schedule to this Order:

NOW the Government in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the said section 77 of the said Local Government Act, 1946 , hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Change of Name of Non-Municipal Town) Order, 1971.

2. The name of the non-municipal town specified in the Schedule to this Order is hereby changed to Newtownshandrum.

SCHEDULE

The non-municipal town of Newtown in the townlands of Ballyna-killa East and Newtown South, district electoral division of Newtown and administrative county of Cork.

GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Government this 22nd day of June, 1971.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order changes the name of the non-municipal town of Newtown in County Cork to Newtownshandrum.
