The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 103 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961), amended as regards the latter section by sections 6 and 64 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968), hereby makes the following Regulations: |

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (Section 103) (Offences) (Amendment) Regulations, 1971. |
||
2. The Road Traffic Act, 1961 (Section 103) (Offences) Regulations, 1962 ( S.I. No. 91 of 1962 ) are hereby amended as follows:– |
||
(a) in article 5 "Two Pounds" shall be substituted for "One Pound", |
||
(b) in the form prescribed by article 4 "two pounds" shall be substituted for "one pound". |
||
3. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of February, 1971. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
These Regulations amend the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (Section 103) (Offences) Regulations, 1962 ( S.I. No. 91 of 1962 ) by substituting the sum of £2 for the sum of £1 as the amount which a person liable to prosecution for an offence to which section 103 applies may pay as an alternative to the institution of a prosecution. |
