S.I. No. 244/1970:

ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, 1968 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1970.

ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, 1968 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1970.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 4 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968) hereby orders as follows:--

1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (Commencement) Order, 1970.

2. Sections 54 and 55 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 shall come into operation on the 26th day of October, 1970.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings into operation on 26th October, 1970, sections 54 and 55 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968) which refer to exempted persons for the purposes of Part VI of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961).
