S.I. No. 209/1968:

BROADCASTING (OFFENCES) ACT, 1968 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1968.

BROADCASTING (OFFENCES) ACT, 1968 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1968.

WHEREAS section 10 (2) of the Broadcasting (Offences) Act, 1968 (No. 35 of 1968), provides that the said Act shall not come into operation before the expiry of one month beginning on the day on which it is passed :

AND WHEREAS the said Act was passed on the 30th of July, 1968:

NOW, I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the said section 10 (2), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Broadcasting (Offences) Act, 1968 (Commencement) Order, 1968.

2. The 18th day of October, 1968, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Broadcasting (Offences) Act, 1968 (No. 35 of 1968) shall come into operation.

GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 3rd day of October, 1968.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

By this Order the 18th day of October, 1968, is appointed as the day on which the Broadcasting (Offences) Act, 1968 , (No. 35 of 1968) shall come into operation.
