ELECTRICITY (SPECIAL PROVISIONS) ACT, 1966 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1968. |

WHEREAS it is enacted by section 1 (2) of the Electricity (Special Provisions) Act, 1966 , that whenever and so often as the Government are satisfied that, in consequence of a trade dispute, there is a serious disruption of electricity supplies or imminent danger of such disruption, the Government may by order declare that they are satisfied as aforesaid and appoint a day on which the said Act shall come into operation. |

NOW, THEREFORE, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 (2) of the Electricity (Special Provisions) Act, 1966 (No. 13 of 1966), hereby order as follows:-- |

1. This Order may be cited as the Electricity (Special Provisions) Act, 1966 (Commencement) Order, 1968. |
||
2. It is hereby declared that the Government are satisfied that, in consequence of a trade dispute, there is imminent danger of a serious disruption of electricity supplies. |
||
3. The 26th day of March, 1968, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Electricity (Special Provisions) Act, 1966 (No. 13 of 1966), shall come into operation. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
This Instrument brings into operation the Electricity (Special Provisions) Act, 1966 , under which it is unlawful for a person to initiate, take part in or assist a strike to which that Act applies. |
