IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 168) (CUSTOMS DUTIES AND FORM OF CUSTOMS TARIFF) (WHEAT AND MESLIN) ORDER, 1968.

IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 168) (CUSTOMS DUTIES AND FORM OF CUSTOMS TARIFF) (WHEAT AND MESLIN) ORDER, 1968.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), and section 22 of the Finance Act, 1962 (No. 15 of 1962), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (No. 168) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) (Wheat and Meslin) Order, 1968.

2. This order shall come into operation on the 20th day of February, 1968.

3. The Imposition of Duties (No. 159) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1966 ( S.I. No. 132 of 1966 ), is hereby amended by--

( a ) the insertion in the second column of the Schedule at tariff heading number 10.01 of "(b)", and

( b ) the substitution for the matter in the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh columns of the Schedule at tariff heading number 10.01 of "£3 per ton", "£3 per ton", "£3 per ton ", "£3 per ton" and "£3 per ton", respectively.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The Order imposes a Customs duty of £3 per ton on wheat and meslin imported on or after 20th February, 1968, and makes provision for the grant of duty free licences.
