SOCIAL WELFARE (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT, 1966 (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1966.

SOCIAL WELFARE (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT, 1966 (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1966.

I, CAOIMHGHÍN Ó BEOLÁIN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (2) of section 5 of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1966 , (No. 24 of 1966) hereby order as follows :--

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1966 (Appointed Day) Order, 1966.

2. The 31st day of October, 1966, is hereby appointed as the day on which sections 5 , 6 , 7 , 11 and 12 of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1966 , shall come into operation.

GIVEN under my Official Seal this 3rd day of October, 1966.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings into operation on 31st October, 1966, sections 5 , 6 , 7 , 11 and 12 of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1966 , (No. 24 of 1966) which relate to increased rates of social insurance contributions, the easement of the conditions for widows' (contributory) pensions including the payment of reduced pensions in certain cases and the extension of unemployment benefit to women employed in private domestic service and in agriculture.
