SOCIAL WELFARE (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT, 1965 (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1965.

SOCIAL WELFARE (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT, 1965 (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1965.

I, CAOIMHGHÍN Ó BEOLÁIN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (3) of section 6 of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1965 (No. 20 of 1965) hereby order as follows:--

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1965 (Appointed Day) Order, 1965.

2. The 6th day of September, 1965, is hereby appointed as the day on which subsections (1) and (2) of section 6 of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1965 , shall come into operation.

GIVEN under my Official Seal this 30th day of July, 1965.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into operation on 6th September, 1965, subsections (1) and (2) of section 6 of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1965 , (No. 20 of 1965) which provide for the raising of the remuneration limit for compulsory insurance under the Social Welfare Acts in the case of persons who are employed otherwise than by way of manual labour to £1,200 a year and for the making of variations in the limit in future by way of Government Order.
