TRANSPORT ACT, 1958 (SECTION 14 (6)) ORDER, 1961.

I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (6) of section 14 of the Transport Act, 1958 (No. 19 of 1958), and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Transport Act, 1958 (Section 14 (6)) Order, 1961.

2. Article 3 of the Transport Act, 1958 (Section 14 (6)) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 135 of 1959 ), Article 2 of the Transport Act, 1958 (Section 14 (6)) (No. 2) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 166 of 1959 ), and Article 3 of the Transport Act, 1958 (Section 14 (6)) (No. 3) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 167 of 1959 ), are hereby amended by the deletion in each case of " affecting the workers employed in that Department ".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to provide that the redundancy compensation provisions of the Transport Act, 1958 will continue to apply to workers who, by virtue of the C.I.E. Area Decentralization Scheme, may cease to be workers employed in a "Department" by reference to which workers are described in the three existing Orders which are amended by this Order.
