MILLABLE WHEAT REGULATIONS, 1961. |

I, PATRICK SMITH, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 6 of the Agricultural Produce (Cereals) Act, 1933 (No. 7 of 1933), and after consultation with the Minister for Industry and Commerce, hereby make the following regulations: |
||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Millable Wheat Regulations, 1961. |
||
2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of August, 1961. |
||
3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations. |
||
4. (1) The standard to which wheat must conform in order to be classed as millable shall be as follows, that is to say, such wheat must be-- |
||
(a) commercially clean, |
||
(b) in sound and sweet condition, |
||
(c) capable, having regard to the methods customarily used in the milling industry for the cleaning and conditioning of wheat, of being milled into flour suitable for human consumption, and |
||
(d) of a bushel weight of not less than 54 pounds. |
||
(2) The reference in this Regulation to a bushel weight shall be construed as a reference to such weight determined by means of-- |
||
(a) a weighing instrument of a type corresponding to the pattern of the weighing instrument certified by the Minister for Industry and Commerce by Certificate numbered 152 S.E., under section 6 of the Weights and Measures Act, 1904, or |
||
(b) a weighing instrument of a type corresponding to the pattern of the weighing instrument certified by the Minister for Industry and Commerce by Certificate numbered 153 S.E., under section 6 of the Weights and Measures Act, 1904. |
||
5. The Millable Wheat Regulations, 1959 ( S.I. No. 114 of 1959 ), are hereby revoked. |
