SOCIAL WELFARE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1958 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1958.

SOCIAL WELFARE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1958 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1958.

I, SEÁN MacENTEE, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection 3 of section 4 of the Social Welfare (Amendment) Act, 1958 (No. 36 of 1958) hereby order as follows:--

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare (Amendment) Act, 1958 (Commencement) Order, 1958.

2. The Social Welfare (Amendment) Act, 1958 shall come into operation on the 29th day of December, 1958.

GIVEN under my Official Seal this 23rd day of December, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty-eight.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings into operation the provisions of the Social Welfare (Amendment) Act, 1958 (No. 36 of 1958), the main purpose of which is to raise the remuneration limit for insurance under the Social Welfare Acts, 1952 to 1958, of persons in non-manual employment, from £600 to £800 per annum.
