IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 17) (DRIED PEAS) ORDER, 1958. |

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), hereby order as follows : |
||
1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (No. 17) (Dried Peas) Order, 1958. |
||
2. The Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 255) Order, 1950 ( S.I. No. 192 of 1950 ), shall, as respects articles imported on or after the 13th day of February, 1958, have effect as if-- |
||
(a) " 6d. " were substituted for " 2d. " in paragraph 3, |
||
(b) " 4d. " were substituted for " 1 1/3d. " in paragraph 4, and |
||
(c) " either without payment of the duty imposed by this Order or on payment thereof at the rate which obtained immediately before the 13th day of February, 1958," were substituted for " without payment of the duty imposed by this Order " and " either without payment of the said duty or on payment thereof at the rate which obtained immediately before the 13th day of February, 1958," were substituted for " without payment of such duty " in paragraph 5. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
The effect of this Order is to increase the Customs duty on dried peas from 2d. per lb. (full), 1 1/3d. per lb. (preferential--United Kingdom and Canada) to 6d. per lb. (full), 4d. per lb. (preferential--United Kingdom and Canada). |
