S.I. No. 232/1957:

SOLICITORS' REMUNERATION GENERAL ORDER, 1957 (DISALLOWANCE) ORDER, 1957.

SOLICITORS' REMUNERATION GENERAL ORDER, 1957 (DISALLOWANCE) ORDER, 1957.

WHEREAS the Solicitors' Remuneration General Order, 1957 ( S.I. No. 199 of 1957 ), has been laid before Seanad Éireann and Seanad Eireann has within one month thereafter passed a resolution stating that Seanad Éireann was of opinion that the said Order should be disallowed and requested the Government to disallow it :

NOW, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by virtue of section 6 of the Solicitors Remuneration Act, 1881, sections 5 and 10 of the Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 (No. 2 of 1922), section 2 of the Executive Powers (Consequential Provisions) Act, 1937 (No. 20 of 1937), and section 4 of the Constitution (Consequential Provisions) Act, 1937 (No. 40 of 1937), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Solicitors' Remuneration General Order, 1957 (Disallowance) Order, 1957.

2. The Solicitors' Remuneration Order, 1957 ( S.I. No. 199 of 1957 ), is hereby disallowed.

GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Government, this 15th day of November, 1957.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Instrument disallows the Solicitors' Remuneration General Order, 1957 ( S.I. No. 199 of 1957 ), made by the body in that behalf authorised by the Solicitors Remuneration Act, 1881, as adapted by the Solicitors' Remuneration Act, 1881, Adaptation Order, 1946 ( S. R. & O. No. 208 of 1946 ), and laid before Dail Eireann and Seanad Éireann.
