S.I. No. 303/1956:

CITY AND COUNTY MANAGEMENT (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1955 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1956.

CITY AND COUNTY MANAGEMENT (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1955 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1956.

The Minister for Local Government in pursuance of section 24 of the City and County Management (Amendment) Act, 1955 (No. 12 of 1955) hereby orders as follows :--

1. This Order may be cited as the City and County Management (Amendment) Act, 1955 (Commencement) Order, 1956.

2. Section 23 of the City and County Management (Amendment) Act, 1955 , shall come into operation on the 30th day of November, 1956, for the purpose of effecting the repeal of section 5 of the Local Government (Dublin) (Temporary) Act, 1948 (No. 15 of 1948).

GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Local Government this thirtieth day of November one Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty-six.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into operation on 30th day of November, 1956, section 23 of the City and County Management (Amendment) Act, 1955 , for the purpose of effecting the repeal of section 5 of the Local Government (Dublin) (Temporary) Act, 1948 . Section 5 of the latter Act prohibited the making of permanent appointments to the office of Dublin Assistant City Manager and to the office of Dublin Assistant County Manager.
