GARDA SIOCHANA (PROMOTION) (No. 2) REGULATIONS, 1955. |

The Minister for Justice, with the approval of the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 14 of the Police Forces Amalgamation Act, 1925 (No. 7 of 1925), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, hereby makes the following Regulations : |
||
1.--(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Garda Siochána (Promotion) (No. 2) Regulations, 1955. |
||
(2) The collective citation, the Garda Siochána (Promotion) Regulations, 1925 to 1955, shall be deemed to include these Regulations. |
||
2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations. |
||
3. A sergeant who formerly held the rank of inspector and who lost that rank on being removed from the Detective Branch otherwise than as a punishment under the Garda Siochána (Discipline) Regulations, 1926, shall be deemed to have passed the Class I Promotion examinations as required by Article 9 of the Garda Siochána (Promotion) Regulations, 1925, and shall be eligible for promotion to the rank of inspector. |
