HOLIDAYS (EMPLOYEES) ACT, 1939 (SECTIONS 9 AND 10) REGULATIONS, 1946.

HOLIDAYS (EMPLOYEES) ACT, 1939 (SECTIONS 9 AND 10) REGULATIONS, 1946.

I, SEÁN F. LEMASS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sub-section (5) of section 9 and sub-section (4) of section 10 of the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1939 (No. 1 of 1939), hereby make the following Regulations :

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1939 (Sections 9 and 10) Regulations, 1946.

2. In these Regulations the expression " the Act of 1939 " means the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1939 (No. 1 of 1939).

3. These Regulations apply to non-domestic workers who are under the age of eighteen years and are employed in mining.

4. In the application of section 9 of the Act of 1939 to the workers to which these Regulations apply, the period of one hundred and twenty hours shall be substituted in sub-sections (1), (2), (3) and (4) of that section for the period of one hundred and fifty hours.

5. In the application of section 10 of the Act of 1939 to the workers to which these Regulations apply, the period of fifteen hundred hours shall be substituted in sub-section (1) of that section for eighteen hundred hours, and the periods of two hundred and fifty hours and one hundred and twenty hours shall respectively be substituted in sub-section (3) for the period of three hundred hours and the several periods of one hundred and fifty hours.
