The appeal was heard on the 17th, 18th, 19th and 22nd September 2008 at Bicester Magistrates Court, concluding submissions were heard on the 23rd September 2008 at the Care Standards Tribunal, Pocock Street, London.

The background
Mrs Tiffin struck the Tribunal as a careful and accurate witness, who was not to be persuaded to say anything that she was not sure about. It was clear that some events had made a deep impression on her and the Tribunal's only reservation about her evidence was that such events were seen through the eyes of a then new and very inexperienced care assistant, whose interpretation of what she saw may not have been wholly correct.
