"Both applications were treated as being before me. James Wright was not present in court, but Mrs Adshead spoke on his behalf, seeking the relief asked by the later application. While I doubted whether permission to withdraw was required, the right course appeared to me to dismiss the earlier application and to order James Wright to pay the costs of the RBS of both applications. I did this on the first day of the hearing."
