      INVESTIGATORY POWERS

      The Regulation of Investigatory Powers (Scotland) Act 2000 (Commencement) Order 2000

        Made 28th September 2000 

      The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 32(2) of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers (Scotland) Act 2000[1], hereby make the following Order:

      Citation and interpretation
           1.  - (1) This Order may be cited as the Regulation of Investigatory Powers (Scotland) Act 2000 (Commencement) Order 2000.

          (2) In this Order, "the Act" means the Regulation of Investigatory Powers (Scotland) Act 2000.

      Appointed day
          
      2. 29th September 2000 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the Act.

      EXPLANATORY NOTE

      (This note is not part of the Order)

      This Order appoints 29th September 2000 as the day for the coming into force of all the provisions of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers (Scotland) Act 2000 (asp 11).
