PAWNBROKERS ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1954 - SECT 36

Penalties for offences.

36.(1) A person guilty of an offence against this Act in respect of which a
penalty is not expressly provided shall be liable on summary conviction

(a)in respect of a first offence, to a fine not exceeding twenty pounds;

(b)in respect of a second or subsequent conviction of any offence against
this Act, to a fine not exceeding fifty pounds or to imprisonment for a term
not exceeding three months or to both such fine and such imprisonment;

(c)in respect of a continuing offence, to a further fine not exceeding two
pounds for every day during which the offence is continued.

(2) A conviction for an offence under any enactment repealed by this Act shall
for the purposes of this Act be treated as a conviction for an offence against
this Act.
