LEGISLATIVE PROCEDURE ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1968 - SECT 2

Amendments as to the period within which certain rules and instruments are to be laid before Parliament.

2.(1) Where a provision of any Act passed by Parliament before the
commencement of this Act, or of any Act relating to a matter in respect of
which Parliament has power to make laws and passed by the Parliament of the
United Kingdom at any time before the commencement of this Act, requires any
statutory rules or other instrument to be laid before either or both of the
Houses of Parliament within any specified period after the making of such
rules or instrument or, if Parliament or, as the case may be, the House in
question is not then sitting, within any specified period after the beginning
of the then next meeting or session of Parliament or the next meeting of that
House, as from the commencement of this Act that provision shall have effect
as if for such requirement there were substituted the requirement that the
rules or, as the case may be, the instrument shall be laid before Parliament
or such House as soon as may be after they or it are or is made.

(2) In this section

"statutory rules" has the same meaning as in the [Statutory Rules (Northern
Ireland) Order 1979]; and

"instrument" has the same meaning as in section 1(c) of the Interpretation Act
(Northern Ireland) 1954.

S.3 substitutes s.41(2) of 1954 c.33 (NI). S.4 rep. by 1979 NI12 art.11(2)
sch.5
