The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 200 of the Health and Social Care (Community Health and Standards) Act 2003[
1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation, commencement, application and interpretation
1.
- (1) This Order may be cited as the General Medical Services and Personal Medical Services Transitional and Consequential Provisions (Amendment) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 1st April 2005.
(2) This Order applies in relation to England only.
(3) In this Order, "the Transitional Order" means the General Medical Services and Personal Medical Services Transitional and Consequential Provisions Order 2004[
2].
Amendment of article 105 of the Transitional Order
2.
In article 105 of the Transitional Order (details to be included on prescription forms etc.), in paragraph (1), for "31st March 2005" substitute "31st March 2006".
Amendment of article 110 of the Transitional Order
3.
In article 110 of the Transitional Order (meaning of suitable experience), for "Until the coming into force of article 5 of the 2003 Order," substitute "Until either the establishment of the General Practitioner Register pursuant to article 10(1) of the 2003 Order or the coming into force of paragraphs 21 and 22 of Schedule 8 to that Order, whichever occurs first,".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the General Medical Services and Personal Medical Services Transitional and Consequential Provisions Order 2004 to:
(a) extend for a further year the period for which prescription forms, repeatable prescriptions and batch issues need not include the name of the contractor as required by various Regulations relating to primary medical services; and
(b) correct a cross-referencing error in article 110 of that Order.
