1. This Order may be cited as the Insurance Brokers Registration Council (Registration and Enrolment) (Amendment) Rules Approval Order 2000, and shall come into force on 31st December 2000.
2. The Insurance Brokers Registration Council (Registration and Enrolment) (Amendment) Rules 2000 made on 28th November 2000 by the Insurance Brokers Registration Council in exercise of their powers under section 8(2) of the Insurance Brokers (Registration) Act 1977 are hereby approved.

This Order approves Rules made by the Insurance Brokers Registration Council in exercise of its powers under section 8(2) of the Insurance Brokers (Registration) Act 1977.
The Rules amend the Insurance Brokers Registration Council (Registration and Enrolment) Rules 1978, as amended by the Insurance Brokers Registration Council (Registration and Enrolment) (Amendment) Rules 1979 and 1994, by providing that no fee shall be payable to the Insurance Brokers Registration Council, by a registered insurance broker or by a practising insurance broker, on 1st January 2001.

The reference to the "Secretary of State" was replaced with a reference to the "Treasury" by Article 8 of, and paragraphs 106 and 107 of the Schedule to, SI 1997/2781.
