The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 20 and 190(1) of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989(1), hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the National Crime Squad Service Authority (Standing Order) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 1st May 1998.
2. No later than the first ordinary meeting of the National Crime Squad Service Authority falling after the day on which these Regulations come into force, the Authority shall in respect of the recording of votes, and signing of minutes-
(a)make standing orders incorporating the provisions set out in Schedule 2 to the Local Authorities (Standing Orders) Regulations 1993(2) or provisions to the like effect, and
(b)modify any existing standing orders in so far as necessary to conform with those provisions.

These Regulations apply to the National Crime Squad Service Authority provisions equivalent to those of the Local Authorities (Standing Orders) Regulations 1993, which relate to the recording of votes at meeting of, and the signing of minutes of meetings of, an authority.
1989 c. 42. Section 21 (which contains the definition of "local authority" applicable in relation to section 20) was amended by paragraph 29 of Schedule 6 in the Police Act 1997 (c. 50).
