The Traffic Director for London, in accordance with a direction given to him by the Secretary of State for Transport under section 58(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1991(1) and in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(2), and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the A41 Trunk Road (Baker Street, Westminster) Red Route (Prohibited Turn) Traffic Order 1997, and shall come into force on 26th April 1997.
2. Subject to the provisions of article 3 below, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle proceeding south-eastward in Baker Street, in the City of Westminster, to make a left turn into Marylebone Road.
3. Nothing in article 2 above shall apply-
(a)to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a traffic warden; or
(b)to a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes.
4. The A41 Trunk Road (Baker Street) Red Route (Prohibited Turn) (No. 1) Experimental Traffic Order 1995(3) is hereby revoked.
