WATER SUPPLY, SCOTLAND

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 17(1) of the Water (Scotland) Act 1980(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, on the application of the Western Isles Islands Council, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Western Isles Islands Council (Lochmaddy) Water Order 1993 and shall come into force on 1st April 1993.
2. In so far as it relates to the acquisition by the Western Isles Islands Council of the right to take water from Loch Fada, Loch Galtarsay and Loch nan Geadh, Lochmaddy, North Uist and to the reservations and conditions contained therein affecting said right, the Minute of Agreement entered into between Robert Cheyne Turcan and Others as Trustees thereinmentioned of the first part and the Western Isles Islands Council of the second part, dated 1st, 2nd and 6th all days of April in the year 1992 and recorded in the Division of the General Register of Sasines for the County of Inverness and registered in the Books of Council and Session both on 6th July 1992 and signed and sealed by the Secretary of State for Scotland and marked "Agreement referred to in the Western Isles Islands Council (Lochmaddy) Water Order 1992", is hereby approved.
3. The Western Isles Islands Council shall at all times after the expiration of six months from the date on which this Order comes into force keep at the office of the Chief Executive of the Council a copy thereof and an extract of the said Agreement.
