In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 35 of the Police Act 1964(1), after taking into consideration the recommendations made by the Police Negotiating Board for the United Kingdom and furnishing the said Board with a draft of the Regulations in accordance with section 2(1) of the Police Negotiating Board Act 1980(2), I hereby make the following Regulations:
1.-(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Police Cadets (Amendment) Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 22nd November 1993, but regulation 2 shall have effect as from 1st September 1992.
(2) In these Regulations "the principal Regulations" means the Police Cadets Regulations 1979(3).
2.-(1) Regulation 13(1)(a) of the principal Regulations is amended by substituting -
(a)for the words "1st July 1991" the words "1st September 1992"; and
(b)for the words "31st August 1991" the words "31st August 1993".
(2) Schedule 2 to the principal Regulations is amended by substituting for the Table-

3. Paragraph 2 of Schedule 3 to the principal Regulations is amended by substituting for the figure "£639" the figure "£675" and for the figure "£591" the figure "£624".

These Regulations further amend the Police Cadets Regulations 1979. Regulation 2 increases pay from 1st September 1992 and again from 1st September 1993 (retrospection is authorised by section 33(4), as applied by section 35(2), of the Police Act 1964). Regulation 3 increases charges payable by cadets for board and lodging provided by police authorities.
