1. The lengths of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies North Yorkshire County Council that the Motorway is open for through traffic.
2. In this Order-
(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(i)(2) (i) "classified road" | as a classification for a highway means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as a principal road; |
(ii)"the deposited plan" | means the plan folio numbered HA10YHCPD 46 marked "The A1 Trunk Road (Walshford to Dishforth Interchange Detrunking) Order 1992 ", signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY; and |
(iii)"the Motorway" | means the highway to be provided in pursu ance of the A1 Motorway (Walshford to Dishforth Section and Connecting Roads) Scheme 1992(3). |
3. This Order shall come into force on the 14th August 1992 and may be cited as the A1 Trunk Road (Walshford to Dishforth Interchange Detrunking) Order 1992.

1. That length of the A1 trunk road from a point about 450 metres south of its junction with Whixley Lane (marked "A' on the map numbered 1 on the deposited plan) to a point about 1510 metres south of Bar Lane Bridge (marked "B" on the map numbered 2 on the deposited plan).
2. That length of the A1 trunk road from a point about 1070 metres south of Bar Lane Bridge (marked "C' on the map numbered 2 on the deposited plan) to a point about 100 metres south of Bar Lane Bridge (marked "D" on the map numbered 2 on the deposited plan).
3. That length of the A1 trunk road from a point about 100 metres north of Bar Lane Bridge (marked "E' on the map numbered 2 on the deposited plan) to a point about 800 metres south of its junction with Leeming Lane (marked "F" on the map numbered 2 on the deposited plan).
4. That length of the A1 trunk road from a point about 420 metres north of its junction with Leeming Lane (marked "G" on the map numbered 2 on the deposited plan) to a point about 800 metres north-west of its junction with Guy Lane (marked "H" on the map numbered 2 on the deposited plan).
