The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 77 of the Local Government Act 1985(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Reorganisation (Capital Money) (West Yorkshire) (Amendment) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 30th March 1990.
2. The Local Government Reorganisation (Capital Money) (Metropolitan Counties) Order 1986(2) shall have effect in respect of the financial year ending 31st March 1990 with the addition-
(a)at the end of article 4(1) (additions to net capital receipts) of the words "and (c) the sum of £9 million."; and
(b)in article 5(1), at the end of the definition of "distributable capital money", of the words "and (e) the sum of £9 million.".

This Order amends the Local Government Reorganisation (Capital Money) (Metropolitan Counties) Order 1986 (S.I. 1986/2063) in order to permit the West Yorkshire Residuary Body to retain £9 million of their capital receipts which they would otherwise be required to distribute in the year ending 31st March 1990.
S.I. 1986/2063; the Order has ceased to have effect in relation to the counties of Greater Manchester, Merseyside, South Yorkshire and Tyne and Wear by virtue of S.I. 1989/1359, 2470, 814 and 1988/1590 respectively and did not apply to the West Midlands. Accordingly, it has effect only in relation to the county of West Yorkshire.
