1. The length of trunk road described in the schedule to this order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classifed as a classifed road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifes the County Council of Northamptonshire that all new trunk roads are open for through traffc.
2. In this Order:-
(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(2) (i) "classifed road" as a classifcation for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classifed as principal roads but is a classifed road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classifed by the Secretary of State and which does not specifcally refer to their classifcation as principal roads;
(ii)"the deposited plan" means the plan numbered HA10/EM 37 marked "The (A43) Oxford-Market Deeping Trunk Road (Blisworth and Milton Malsor Bypass and Slip Roads to Rothersthorpe Service Area) Detrunking Order 1988" signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London, SW1P 3PY;
(iii)"the new trunk roads" means the trunk roads to be constructed by the Secretary of State in pursuance of the (A43) Oxford-Market Deeping Trunk Road (Blisworth and Milton Malsor Bypass and Slip Roads to Rothersthorpe Service Area) Order 1988(3); and
(iv)"the trunk road" means the (A43) Oxford-Market Deeping Trunk Road.
3. This Order shall come into force on 5th January 1989 and may be cited as the (A43) Oxford-Market Deeping Trunk Road (Blisworth and Milton Malsor Bypass and Slip Roads to Rothersthorpe Service Area) Detrunking Order 1988.

The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is that length of the trunk road at Blisworth and Milton Malsor in the County of Northamptonshire which is situated from a point on the eastern boundary of the trunk road 31 metres south-west of the access track to Rectory Farm, to a point on the Northampton Borough Boundary which is immediately to the north of the M1 Motorway, a total distance of 5ยท49 kilometres.
