EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order varies each of the Police Grant (Scotland) Orders for the financial years between 1997/98 and 2005/06 to state the actual aggregate police grant and the amounts of police grant paid to each police authority and joint police board in respect of those financial years, as redetermined on the basis of audited accounts.

A redetermination of police is carried out because police grant as stated in each annual Police Grant (Scotland) Order was based on estimated budget figures. Upon receipt of audited accounts, the Scottish Ministers have substituted audited figures into the formula used to calculate police grant and the amount of police grant has been redetermined accordingly.
