      SPORTS GROUNDS AND SPORTING EVENTS

      The Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Amendment Order 2001

        Made 5th June 2001 
        Laid before the Scottish Parliament 6th June 2001 
        Coming into force 28th July 2001 

      The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 18 of the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995[1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:

      Citation and commencement
           1. This Order may be cited as the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Amendment Order 2001 and shall come into force on 28th July 2001.

      Amendment of the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Order 1998
          
      2. Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Order 1998[2] shall be amended-

        (a) by deleting from that Part "Boghead Park, Dumbarton"; and

        (b) by inserting in that Part the following names in the appropriate places in alphabetical order:-

               "H.A.F.C. Stadium, Hamilton" and

               "Strathclyde Homes Stadium, Dumbarton"

      EXPLANATORY NOTE

      (This note is not part of the Order)

      This Order amends the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Order 1998 (S.I. 1998/2314) which designates the sports grounds, the classes of sporting events played at those grounds and the classes of sporting events outside Great Britain for the purposes of Part II of the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995 (c.39). As a result of the amendments, Boghead Park, Dumbarton ceases to be, and H.A.F.C. Stadium, Hamilton and Strathclyde Homes Stadium, Dumbarton become, designated sports grounds.
