WATER ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1972 - SECT 21

Power to obtain information.

21.(1) The Ministry may give directions requiring any person who is
abstracting water from any waterway or underground stratum or is discharging
effluent into any waterway or underground stratum to give such information to
it as to the abstraction or discharge, at such times and in such form, as may
be specified in the directions.

(2) A person to whom a direction under subsection (1) is given may, within
four weeks from the date the direction is given to him, appeal to the [Appeals
Commission].

(3) Any person who fails to comply with any directions given under subsection
(1) shall be guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine
not exceeding #20.
