VEHICLES (EXCISE) ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1972 - SECT 26

Marking of engines and bodies.

26. If any person forges or fraudulently alters or uses, or fraudulently lends
or allows to be used by any other person

(a)any mark to be fixed or sign to be exhibited on a mechanically propelled
vehicle in accordance with section 19 or 21; or

(b)any trade plates or replacements such as are mentioned in section 23(1)(c);
or

(c) any licence or registration document under this Act;

(i)on summary conviction, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months
or to a fine not exceeding #200 or to both; or

(ii)on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two
years or to a fine or to both.
