REGULATION OF RAILWAYS ACT 1868 - SECT 25



25. Where a person has been injured or killed by an accident on a railway, the
Board of Trade, upon application in writing made jointly by the company from
whom compensation is claimed and the person if he is injured, or his
representatives if he is killed, may, if they think fit, appoint an
arbitrator, who shall determine the compensation (if any) to be paid by the
company.
