RENT (NORTHERN IRELAND) ORDER 1978 - SECT 30



30.(1) Where a rent is registered for a tenancy in pursuance of an application
under Article 26, the registration shall take effect on the expiration of ten
weeks after the date on which the application is received by the Department,
unless the rent assessment committee determines that it is to take effect on a
later date.

(2) The date on which the registration takes effect shall be entered in the
register and on that date any previous registration of a rent for the
dwelling-house shall cease to have effect.

(3) Where

(a)a valid notice of increase under Article 21(2) has been served on a tenant;
and

(b)in consequence of the registration or amendment of an appropriate rent,
part but not the whole of the increase specified in the notice becomes
irrecoverable from the tenant,
